#01 Retro-Moto

In the building world of motorcycles, there is always the one that started it all. A motorcycle that truly describes what you’re about in terms of style and performance. The Retro-Moto is that bike for me. I purchased this bike as a bone stock 2003 Suzuki DR650 in 2018. My original plans were to throw wheels and tires on it and just whip it around the city without a care in the world. Well that original plan soon developed in a full frame up build. I’m a big fan of the boldness, colors and lines of vintage motorcycles so there’s no surprise the design for this bike would be based on an old Suzuki RM400. When the build started the bike was stripped all the way down to the frame. All the unnecessary items were removed to save weight, which is estimated to be 50lbs! The frame got a new rear loop to hold the classic RM rear fender and a pan underneath the seat was made to hold the electronics. Once back from powder, the Racetech suspension was added front/rear, 17” Warp 9 supermoto wheels were installed and the low mileage powerplant was put in place. The classic yellow Suzuki plastics were added which really set off the bike in terms of styling. Other goodies were added like a Motogadget Mlock, Vapor speedo, dyno jet carb kit and a custom tailpipe I made to awaken the single. Today this bike still is my daily rider and is now coined the “Retro-Moto”!
